1 year old!

She's 1!  I can't beleive it.  It was fun remembering back a year ago and what was happening.  Well maybe not remembering everything, but Marc and I talked about what was happening at certain times and the people with us.  I don't remember labor being for two days, but it was.  Thank goodness I don't remember!

On June 16 we celebrated Elizabeth's birthday with family and a few friends.  The weather worked out perfectly.  It rained in the morning, was sunny for Elizabeth's party and got weird in the evening.  An added bonus is our neice Kadyn got to stay over night Saturday night and left with my parents Sunday morning.  It was a lot of fun to get the extra time with her.  As for the party, Elizabeth did have fun, but was stoic for the cake and tired by the time she opened presents, but she was such a good girl.  We couldn't be happier.  Thank you to everyone who came to her party and celebrated with us!

I should add...

I should add that on Monday the 11th Elizabeth was 19 lbs.  Her year check up is in a few weeks so I'll have all of the stats to share then!

Trip to the ER

Since I can now write about this without getting teary-eyed, but we took Elizabeth to the ER last Monday night.  All weekend she was running a fever from teething and clingy and sleepy and the Dr said to keep her comfortable and only worry if her temp got above 103 and/or she started vomiting.  Monday both Marc and I stayed home from work.  Marc stayed to take care of Elizabeth and I stayed because I had a cold and running a slight fever.  During the day Elizabeth was eating less and less and then around 8 pm her fever spiked and she started vomiting.  So, off to the ER we went.  We first went to Urgent Care and waited there for a hour only to be told we needed to go to the ER so we went there and they got us in within 20 mins.  I guess Elizabeth having a fever of 105.6 made them move a little faster.  They ran the horde of test and took chest xrays, but came back with nothing scary or too definite.  They decided she had a double ear infection, strep throat, a cold and four molars coming in.  Never let it be said our daughter is an under achiever.  They gave Elizabeth IV fluids.  Unfortunately to put in the IV they had to stick her four times.  Her poor little arms, hands and foot (where they finally got it) all have bruises on them.  But after the IV fluids got in she started feeling better and perked up.  We were all so ready to be home.  We got there about 2 am.  Marc went off to get her prescription filled and I got her in bed.  Of course it took both Marc and me a while to fall asleep with all the adrenalin we still had going.  I got up at 6 to go to work and Marc stayed home with Elizabeth again.  By Wednesday she was back at day care, tired, but full of mischief and Marc and I are still recovering.  Hopefully that will be the worst and most terrifying thing we have to do as parents.  It certainly wore us all out right before Elizabeth's 1st birthday party, which went great, but more on that, with pictures later.

Photo Catchup

Oye!  Where to begin?
We have a crawler!  She is going forwards and is fast!  She loves to crawl to the gate between the kitchen and living room and look at Marty.  Marty thinks it is fun to see her too, but has stopped leaving his toys where she might reach them.  Apparently he doesn't want to share.
Elizabeth is also pulling herself up on everything she can.  No walking yet, but she is very proud of herself when she clears off any table or shelf she can reach when she is standing.
Elizabeth has a new tooth in.  That makes 5 total.  And if her drool is any indication, she will be getting more soon.
May 12 we had a branch fall on our house.  No damage, but it was a lot of work to clean up.  May 13 was my first offical Mother's Day.  Marc & Elizabeth got me a beautiful card and Diane & Wayne came up to spend the afternoon with us.  It was a very nice time.
Sunday of Memorial Weekend Marc's family gathered at Luke & Khari's house to celebrate Diane & Wayne's 40 wedding anniversary.  All of the family was together, which hasn't happened in a while.  We got a family picture and spent the day together.  Elizabeth had a great time with her cousins even if she was shy and a little clingy to Mom.  Elizabeth did wonderfully during the 4 hours of driving.
Elizabeth is 11 months and 2 weeks old! How did that happen?! We're getting ready for her first birthday and are having a small party with family and friends. Of course I'll post pics later!

Concordia Weekend

The weekend of April 21 & 22 Elizabeth and I traveled to Moorhead to see some of our Concordia College friends.  For those of you who don't know, that is where Marc & I met.
Here is the cast of characters from the weekend.
Heidi who lives in Moorhead and let E & me stay at her place
Sara, Bob & Cora who drove up for the weekend.  Cora is about 18 months old.
Karena whose birthday is 3 days before mine and Ally whose birthday is 6 days after Elizabeth's.

So Elizabeth and I took off Saturday morning and had lunch at my parents' with Scott, Shelly, Kadyn & Chase.  After a short visit, Elizabeth and I headed up to Moorhead where Heidi had a wonderful meal waiting.  After a sleepless night for me and Elizabeth because she was so congested, the three of us took Sammy and Magic for a walk.  We then met Karena, Ally & Karena's parents for lunch.  Seeing Karena's parents was an added bonus.  Back to Heidi's where Sara, Bob & Cora joined us.  We tried to get the girls to take naps, but you know that didn't work.  We headed over to Concordia's campus and took loads of pictures (see below)
And our time together was way too short as we all started heading home.  Elizabeth & I drove back to my parents' place to sleep and eat (seems like we do that a lot)  Monday we stopped to see Stan & Alison.  Elizabeth & I also stopped at Westminster (where I work) on our way home.  It was a tiring, but fantastic weekend.  I was worried about Elizabeth riding in the car for 8 hours over 3 days, but by breaking it up, she did great!

No title. Just cute

Messy food taste better!
Is there more?
Tomorrow Elizabeth will be 10 months old.  I'm trying to remember what was happening in my pregnancy last year at this time.  I beleive my siatic nerve was starting to act up and my feet were beginning to swell.  It was the beginning of the end.  I was also enjoying wonderful showers with family and friends.  Hmmm...

Last weekend my parents visited.  It was great.  I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall while my Dad and Mom tried to get Elizabeth to dance.  They took care of Elizabeth while I worked Friday.  They did so many helpful and wonderful things and we can't thank them enough.  Hopefully the first rhubarb upside down cake of the year helped them feel rewarded.  Elizabeth wanted nothing to do with the cake, but she did like sampling some of the Easter candy G&G T brought her.

After church and guess who is tired?

This is a really fun shirt Grandma!

I'm going to get you!
Anyway, Marc has been out of town for work this week.  It gives Elizabeth and me lots of girly time, but I am exhausted.  Elizabeth still has a bottle at night, any where from 1:30 am to 5:00 am.  That wouldn't be a big deal, except she doesn't like to go back to sleep after a bottle.  She ends up sleeping in our bed.  Funny how that little cutie can snore!
I got the Fleet Farm ad!

Like Aunt Alison says,
"If Fleet Farm doesn't have it, I don't need it!"
Elizabeth and I are taking our first solo road trip this weekend to Moorhead.  We're very excited to see some of my college friends, including my roommate Karena and her daughter, Alyson who was born a week after Elizabeth.  Wish us luck!

9 Month Appointment & Easter

Hoppy Easter!

Eating popcorn with Daddy!

Yummy!
Elizabeth had her 9 month checkup on Good Friday, the 3.  She is 17 lbs 14 oz and 25 inches long.  The Doctor said she is doing great.  Elizabeth is over her double ear infection.  Thank goodness.  It was almost impossible to get her medicine in her!  She is really good at blowing raspberries and could blow her liquid meds across the room.  I'm over my sinus infection too so things are much more fun at our house than last week.
Hanging with Great Grandpa.  Love the over-alls!
We also went to church on Good Friday.  Elizabeth was one of very few if not the only baby at the afternoon service.  She did love hearing her voice echo during the slient time so we ended up in the crying room.  Sunday morning we attended the early service.  She liked to talk during that service too, but there were oodles of kids there and I think they were all talking to each other.  After church we went to Grandma & Grandpa Wilson's and had Easter dinner.  Elizabeth got to spend time with two of her Great Aunts, Great Grandpa Finley, Uncle Luke and Cousins Aidan & Clara as well as Grandma and Grandpa.

After Easter Sunday Service.
Someone needed a nap! She still is so cute!!
